Major Lazer: Cold Water Beginner Hoop Dance Tutorial
I recommend this HLYB workout as a great daily warm up or a fun hoop dance flow a few times a week coupled with your other practice and workouts.
This week I shared a cheeky tutorial on YouTube and I named the move the Crotch Trap.
No More Inner Thigh Bruises
It is a fun little variation of many other moves that we either love or love to hate like the wedgies and escalators.
And of course I can’t obsess over a move without creating a million different flow sessions around it so I whipped up a quick hoop dance flow this week. Equally as cheeky with booty wraps and crotch traps galore! Oh you are going to LOVE it!
Now you can have access to hundreds of hoop dance tutorials and workouts on your phone. Whether you are using iOS or Android you can now download the Hooplovers app and check out all the hoop tutorial playlists anywhere, anytime.
The coolest part about the new Hooplovers app is you spend less time searching for hoopspiration and lessons because everything is neatly organised into categories so you spend more time hooping and playing!
So many images of love and fear in the media right now but tonight I tuned out and watched a music video clip.
The character in the clip had an old tape player inside of him that was blasting a funky dance track. Others started to hear the soundtrack coming from his belly and were so inspired they would dance around him with wild abandon. The sounds that were coming from inside him made others so happy but he slowly became more and more depressed and withdrawn. Those who were drawn to him could feel his energy and enjoyed his gift of music but to him it had become a burden, he couldn’t see his own light.
Now more than ever we are called to shine our light, to play our sound track, to invite others to dance. Now more than ever we are called to recognise our own light within.
We have been given the gift of hoop dance, expression, freedom to play and this wonderful community of like minded hoopers. I don’t think I can ever articulate fully how grateful I am for that.
Give yourself permission to dance. Own your light.
I heard a song this week. It instantly inspired me. Rushing into the studio, I grabbed my hoop, pressed play and shoved my iPhone into Masao’s hand and simply danced.
This is what happened.
I hope it inspires you to pick up your hoop, to shine your light, to dance with gratitude in your soul and passion for this life we are blessed to live.
